Titanic Facts
The RMS Titanic was a British registered four funnelled ocean liner built for the transatlantic passenger and mail service between Southampton and New York.
Constructed at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Ireland Titanic was, on her maiden voyage, the largest vessel afloat.
On April 10th 1912 the Titanic sailed from Southampton with 2,200 passengers and crew, four days later the Titanic collided with an iceberg and sank. 1500 people died and 700 survived.
It is 98 years, 4 months and 17 days since Titanic was lost. *

Children who s*ck their thumbs are able to begin at an early age to meet their own need for s*cking. These children fall asleep more easily, are able to put themselves back to sleep at night more easily, and sleep through the night much earlier than infants who do not s*ck their thumbs.
A study by Dr. T. Berry Brazelton indicates that as many as 94% have finished with s*cking their thumbs by their first birthdays.
According to the American Dental Association, thumb s*cking does not cause permanent problems with the teeth or jaw line, unless it is continued beyond four to five years of age.
Many studies have looked at the number of children who continue to s*ck their thumbs at this time. As it turns out, somewhere between 85% to 99% of children have finished thumb s*cking spontaneously before this period (the numbers vary depending on the study).
When investigators looked at this group of late thumb-s*ckers for common traits, they found that they had one thing in common that distinguished them from other children -- a prolonged history of a strong battle with thumb s*cking at an earlier age. It is striking that many well-meaning parents have actually encouraged this behavior by trying to forcibly take the thumb out of their children's mouths. *

The new species' flat snout is unique among chameleons, experts says,
There's a new, scalier lord of the jungle: Tarzan the chameleon.
Five-inch-long (13-centimeter-long)Calumma tarzanwas found recently in a tiny patch of forest on the vast Indian Ocean island of Madagascar, a new study says.
The new species' name has multiple roots. For one thing, the chameleon's habitatin what locals call the Tarzan Forestis near the village formerly known as Tarzanville (recently renamed Ambodimeloka).
For another, the team thought naming the new species after the vine-swinging ape man might be a good way to promote the conservation of this species and of course of the forest that it's living in, according to study leader Philip-Sebastian Gehring, an evolutionary biologist at the Technical University of Braunschweigin Germany. *
